Cross-Study Replicability in Cluster Analysis

چکیده
In cancer research, clustering techniques are widely used for exploratory analyses and dimensionality reduction, playing a critical role in the identification of novel subtypes, often with direct implications patient management. As data collected by multiple research groups grows, it is increasingly feasible to investigate replicability procedures, that is, their ability consistently recover biologically meaningful clusters across several datasets. this paper, we review existing methods assess analyses, discuss framework evaluating cross-study replicability, useful when two or more studies available. These approaches can be applied any algorithm employ different measures similarity between partitions quantify globally (i.e. whole sample) as well locally individual clusters). Using experiments on synthetic real gene expression data, illustrate utility metrics evaluate if same identified collection

Cluster Analysis in Cross-cultural Research
One traditional way to reduce the dimensionality of the data is to use some variant of principle component analysis, a technique that permits us to determine which traits are related. Nevertheless, if we wish to determine which societies are the most similar or different using the results of the derived principle components, difficulties begin to arise because, according to one factor, two soci...

متن کاملReplicability analysis for genome-wide association studies
The paramount importance of replicating associations is well recognized in the genomewide associaton (GWA) research community, yet methods for assessing replicability of associations are scarce. Published GWA studies often combine separately the results of primary studies and of the follow-up studies. Informally, reporting the two separate meta-analyses, that of the primary studies and follow-u...

The current crisis in scientific psychology about whether our findings are irreproducible was presaged years ago by Tversky and Kahneman (1971), who noted that even sophisticated researchers believe in the fallacious Law of Small Numbers-erroneous intuitions about how imprecisely sample data reflect population phenomena. Combined with the low power of most current work, this often leads to the ...
متن کاملAnalysis of Tourist Cluster in Mazandaran Using SWOT Approach
Clusters are geographically close groups of related companies or institutions related to a certain area which are inherently more efficient than the other companies due to advantages such as being located in one place, networks, external knowledge, variability of human capital, etc. Today, development through clusters plays a pivotal role in the economic and industrial policies of developed...
